Troubleshooting Questions

Why does my PNG look blurry when printed?
First compare its actual pixel dimensions with the intended physical size. If effective resolution is insufficient, return to the highest-quality source rather than changing only the PPI metadata.
Why did a white box print around the design?
The background was likely exported as opaque. Inspect the alpha channel and the exported PNG over contrasting backgrounds, then correct the editable source and export again.
Why is there a dark or light halo around transparent artwork?
Partially transparent edge pixels may contain an unwanted matte color, or production underbase and compositing may be misregistered. Compare the PNG alpha edge with the RIP preview and physical result.
Why are colors different from my screen?
Check the embedded profile, application color handling, production preset, device condition, ink, material color, coating, and inspection lighting. A physical proof is the appropriate reference for color-critical work.
Why did the production software resize my PNG?
The software may have interpreted units or physical-resolution metadata, applied an automatic fit rule, or imported into a differently sized job. Set final dimensions explicitly and verify the preview.
Why does the same PNG produce different results?
Compare software, profile, machine state, material type and lot, preparation, environment, settings, finishing, and inspection conditions. The PNG is only one controlled input.
