XP Opportunities
i.Lesson Completion
Current Gudiee Learn rule: completing a lesson awards 10 XP the first time the completion is recorded. Reopening or repeating the same completed lesson should not repeatedly award the base completion XP.
PNG lesson completion should require:
- Viewing the required lesson content
- Completing any required interaction or knowledge check
- Recording completion while signed in
- Meeting the lesson's stated completion condition
ii.Quiz Completion
Current Gudiee Learn rule: completing a quiz awards 10 XP. The curriculum should define a passing score before PNG quizzes are connected to this award.
Recommended PNG quiz rules:
- Award completion XP only after the passing threshold is met
- Allow retries for learning without multiplying the one-time completion award
- Show corrections and explanations after submission
- Use question pools or changed scenarios when repeated memorization would weaken the assessment
iii.Challenge Completion
Current Gudiee Learn rule: completing a challenge awards 25 XP. PNG challenge completion should be tied to a submitted result or verified interaction rather than opening the challenge page.
Eligible challenge evidence may include:
- A product-adapted PNG design
- A corrected production-file package
- A documented production exercise
- A troubleshooting diagnosis with verified correction
iv.Project Completion
Current Gudiee Learn rule: completing a project awards 100 XP. Projects carry more XP because they combine several skills and require a finished evidence package.
Project completion should require:
- All required deliverables
- A technically valid final PNG
- A clear connection to the assigned product and production method
- Completed validation and reflection
- Human or rule-based assessment against the published rubric
v.Skill Demonstration
Gudiee does not currently define a separate XP award for skill demonstrations. A PNG skill demonstration can presently be represented through challenge or project completion without creating a second overlapping award.
Recommended future rule
If a distinct demonstration award is introduced, it should require reviewed evidence and should not duplicate XP already awarded for the same project unless the demonstration adds a separately assessed outcome.
vi.Guide Completion
Current Gudiee Learn rule: wiki and guide reading awards 0 XP. Reading progress may be recorded, but opening or scrolling through the PNG guide is not currently an XP-bearing mastery event.
Why this distinction matters
Guide completion shows coverage, not necessarily understanding or production ability. XP should come from lessons, quizzes, challenges, projects, or another verifiable learning activity connected to the guide.
vii.Learning Path Completion
Current Gudiee Learn rule: completing a defined learning path awards 500 XP. A PNG guide alone is not a complete path unless it is formally included in a published curriculum with required lessons and assessments.
A PNG-related path should define:
- Required lessons and their order
- Required quizzes and passing scores
- Required challenges or projects
- Any role-specific creator or maker branch
- The completion event that triggers the path award
viii.Defined Milestones
Gudiee currently defines general Learn milestones. They are broader than the PNG guide and may appear in the user's badge bank when their platform conditions are met.
