Production Methods
i.Compatible methods
PNG is directly useful in production methods that accept raster image input. It can also serve as a reference or intermediate source in other methods, but that does not make it the machine-ready file.

PNG is most naturally suited to raster print and raster engraving workflows. Within Gudiee, the strongest direct matches are typically sublimation, DTF printing, DTG printing, and compatible raster laser engraving.
PNG is especially useful when the design contains:
- Photographic or painted detail
- Full-color raster illustration
- Transparent artwork intended for a compatible print workflow
- Gradients, texture, or tonal shading
- Pixel-based engraving information
iii.Methods to Avoid
Do not use PNG as the only production file when the method requires vectors, stitches, 3D geometry, toolpaths, or other machine instructions. PNG may still be included as a preview or tracing reference.
PNG alone is generally unsuitable for:
- Embroidery production
- Laser cutting
- CNC routing
- Cut vinyl and standard cut HTV
- FDM 3D printing
- Resin 3D printing
A method should not be rejected merely because a PNG is present. The question is whether the complete production package contains the required machine-ready information.
