Materials
i.Compatible Materials
PNG has no inherent material compatibility because it is a digital image. Material compatibility is created by the production method, machine, ink or transfer system, coating, preparation, and product construction.
Depending on the selected method, PNG artwork may be reproduced on:
- Polyester textiles and polymer-coated sublimation blanks
- Compatible cotton, polyester, and blended garments through DTF or DTG workflows
- Printable films, transfer media, sticker stock, and labels
- Coated drinkware, panels, ornaments, and rigid blanks
- Wood, acrylic, leather, coated metal, glass, stone, and other engravable surfaces in validated raster engraving workflows
ii.Recommended Materials
Use materials explicitly approved for the selected machine and process. Prefer consistent blanks or stock with documented coatings, composition, color, dimensions, and production behavior.
For repeatable results, select materials with:
- Known compatibility with the ink, transfer, heat, pressure, laser, or treatment being used
- A usable area that matches the artwork placement
- Consistent surface color and texture
- Stable supplier and lot information when repeat orders matter
- Available care, safety, and processing guidance
- A successfully tested production sample
iii.Incompatible Materials
A material is incompatible when it cannot safely or reliably receive the selected process. This determination comes from the material and production system, not from the PNG file extension.
Avoid materials that:
- Are not approved for the required temperature, pressure, ink, adhesive, laser, or chemical exposure
- Lack the coating or composition required by the selected transfer process
- Release hazardous fumes or byproducts under the planned process
- Warp, melt, scorch, crack, discolor, or lose structural integrity during validated settings
- Prevent acceptable adhesion, cure, detail, or durability
- Cannot be safely secured or positioned in the production equipment
