Operating Parameters

PNG does not contain universal manufacturing operating parameters. It does not inherently define print passes, white ink, temperature, pressure, dwell time, curing, laser speed or power, tool depth, feed rate, stitch settings, or 3D slicing instructions.

Some production software may save job settings separately or derive them after importing the PNG. Those settings belong to that software and production job, not to the PNG specification.

Record operating parameters in:

  • The maker's validated production preset
  • Machine or RIP job settings
  • Listing manufacturing instructions
  • A controlled production worksheet
  • Quality records for repeat orders

Never infer safe machine settings from a PNG filename, color, resolution, or embedded metadata.

Parameters determined outside the PNG
